MTB Chicks was hatched with a first ride at Makara in May 09. Since then the mailing list has grown to over 60 and we have had anything between 2-10 on each ride. It's about going out for a ride rather than racing, but a few people have competed have competed in various events including most recently the Motatapu from Wanaka to Arrowtown.
November 2011: Long Gully Epic: Starting from Makara, up Salvation-Fenceline-Barking Emu-Red Rocks-Long Gully, to the top of South Karori Road. 3 hours, 34km, 1100m climbing. Grade 3 - with a bit of 4 on the Red Rocks descent |

| October 2011: Starting from Paekakariki, across QE Park to MacKay's crossing, under SH1 then into the new Whareroa Farm area then up the new uphill track to Campbell Mill and up to the start of the Akas and back down the new downhill track and across QE Park to Paekakariki for a brew. |  |
April 2011: Tunnel Gully Traverse A good enduro blast around to finish the season off with. A bit of climbing, a bit of singletrack, a bit more climbing, a fun descent onto the Rimutaka rail trail and the rest is mostly hooning along gravel type tracks with a loop on the sandy undulating Kaitoke Forest track to finish. |
